The new Cadillac SRX

The country where the financial crisis has hit the most in the auto industry is definitely the United States. However, maybe there is a positive aspect in it. The big producers decided it is time to produce smaller vehicles, with higher quality, capable of competing with their European rivals, hoping to boost the sales.

Coming from the producer of the giant Esacalade, the Cadillac SRX is a compact SUV that is going to face fierce competition on the auto market from the United States from three German competitors: the BMW X3, the Mercedes GLK and the Audi Q5. Does it stand a chance? From the outside, it looks rather American, so the choice will be a matter of taste. The interior that was presented in the official pictures looked good and it only depends on the quality of the used materials to be on the same level with the three European competitors. There is nothing new when it comes to the engines, though many expected to see some small, powerful and fuel efficient ones. We have a 2.8 liter V6 turbo charged unit that produces 300 BHP and a 3 liter that offers only 280 BHP. Four wheel drive is not a standard option, so the starting price will be quite attractive. We just have to wait and see how it will perform when it will be on the road against the German competition.
